I'll use this space to periodically post some examples of my own original writing. I wrote many of these as example assignments for my students, to show them that writing is a process and I am still working at my craft.

I wrote this eulogy about my Grandpa Ben for his funeral on Tuesday, December 9. My son, Benjamin D. Ambrose, is named after my Grandpa Ben. I used anecdotes from Grandpa's wake and my personal experiences as inspiration for this piece.

Mr. Heinegg started the wonderful tradition of in-classes rap battles among teachers and students on the day before a big vacation. After seeing a great battle in Mr. Heinegg's period 6 class before Thanksgiving, my students have started to participate as well. These are my holiday renditions of "Forever," "Tuesday," and "Don't Tell 'Em." In my magnum opus "Forever: A Celebration of Diverse Holidays," I tried very hard to represent Christmas, Kwanzaa, and Hanukkah.
Written with Mr. Heinegg and performed on 3.16.2016
Mr. Ambrose and Mr. Heinegg rap to the tune of "0 to 100" at the spirit rally as a way to hype up the upcoming rap battle.
